Dare to try this tempting Oreo caramel fault-line cake - recipe by Nikitha

Cookie or Cake? Well, why not both? This infamous recipe by the passionate baker-chef, Nikitha JR, is a tempting combination of flavours and an impossible treat to resist!
Recipe -
Ingredients:
For caramel frosting-
1 cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream
2 tsp butter
For the cake-
300 g soft butter
300 g soft brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 large eggs
1 egg yolk
2 cups self-raising flour
pinch of salt
2 packets of Oreo
Direction:
Caramel frosting-
Melt the sugar
Add the butter and then the cream
Bring the mixture to boil and keep it aside.
The cake-
Pre-heat your oven at 180 C
In a large bowl, beat together the butter, sugar, and vanilla until pale or fluffy
Add the eggs and the egg yolk, while beating thoroughly
Then add the flour and salt
Gently mix until you have a smooth cake batter
Divide the cake batter between the two prepared tins, greasing the tops
Bake for 30-40 minutes
Use a fork to see if the cake is baked clean
Allow to cool in the tins for 15-20 minutes
Faultline assembling-
Use a sharp knife to half the cake into layers and then set aside
Once the cakes are cool, you can begin the assemble
Placing one cake layer onto a plate, spread the caramel frosting layer on top
Gently place the Oreos on top
Place another layer of cake and repeat the process
You can get creative on the top layer and further decorate with whipped cream between the Oreos
